From May 17, 2025, all remaining Vietnam Airlines domestic routes will be handled at Terminal T3.
Exceptions: flights operated by Pacific Airlines and VASCO — plus certain short-haul routes by Vietnam Airlines to Con Dao, Rach Gia and Ca Mau — will continue operating from the old Terminal T1.
Earlier, beginning April 17, flights between Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi, and between Ho Chi Minh City and Van Don had already been moved to T3 as a pilot measure.

Terminal T3 is equipped with modern check-in and boarding facilities designed to improve passenger experience:
Check-in counters from 56 to 109, plus 22 self-service kiosks for check-in.
Self bag-drop service and biometric identification via the mobile app VNeID, developed by the Ministry of Public Security.
More ground staff to assist travelers during the transition.
These upgrades are intended to make check-in more convenient, speed up procedures, reduce paperwork—and contribute to a smoother, more modern travel experience.
Passengers are advised to:
Carefully check the terminal information printed on their tickets;
Familiarize themselves with the layout and facilities of Terminal T3;
Use online check-in via Vietnam Airlines’ website or mobile app;
Arrive at the correct terminal at least two hours before their departure time to ensure a smooth journey.

This full relocation of domestic flights to Terminal T3 marks a major step in modernizing the infrastructure at Tan Son Nhat Airport and optimizing flight operations for Vietnam Airlines. The move is expected to reduce congestion at older terminals, streamline passenger flow, and offer a more efficient, convenient travel experience.
With the new terminal, Tan Son Nhat continues its push to become a leading aviation hub in the region — offering passengers an improved, more seamless journey for domestic flights across Vietnam
