The 8th Hue Traditional Craft Festival themed “The Quintessence of Vietnamese Crafts” will be held from April 26th to May 2nd, 2019 with various cultural and historic programs such as the 230th anniversary of Nguyen Hue’s victory over Qing army (1789 - 2019), the 120th anniversary of establishing Hue town (July 12th, 1899 - 2019), the 120th anniversary of constructing Dong Ba market and Truong Tien bridge, etc.
The 8th Hue Traditional Craft Festival aims to introduce unique products, for example, jewelry, embroidery, painted enamel, bronze casting, Aodai, wood, Zèng textile, ceramic, bamboo-making products, conical hat, paper flowers, painting, lanterns, kites, gastronomy, etc of Hue traditional crafts, craft villages, provinces, cities in Vietnam and overseas. As traditional medicine is one of Hue characteristics, oriental doctors will have a chance to show their talents on this year festival.
Hue Traditional Crafts Festival 2019 will bring together familiar programs such as exhibitions and introducing traditional products of domestic and foreign traditional crafts; the rite to commemorate the patrons of all crafts, the procession honoring artisans and craft villages; Aodai show; gastronomy festival, etc. Besides, exciting cultural community activities such as international hot air balloon festival, "Color of childhood" festival, art exhibitions and youth art shows will also be held.
Hue Traditional Crafts Festival is an opportunity for artisans to show their talents, intellects and the quintessence of Vietnamese traditional crafts as well as create unique products to introduce to the public, far and near tourists.
