Overview

A 6-day trip from Sapa town to Bac Ha - Hoang Su Phi - Nghia Do gives you “wow” breath-taking scenes of the terrace fields spanning vertically across the mountains and colorful market in Northern Vietnam. On this trip, we will take you to witness the colorful mountain hill tribes and off-the-track experiences traveling without tourists – The best to present untouched region north of Vietnam.

Itinerary

Depart from Hanoi for Sapa. Check-in hotel.

Upon arrival, spend 2 hours walking through Muong Hoa Valley in the afternoon, enjoy breathtaking view from the valley which carved by the Hoa stream, decked with a patchwork of rice terraces, and studded with fascinating minority villages.

Dinner with Sapa special dishes known as "sturgeon hotpot".

 

Overnight in Sapa.

Approx: 1 hours driving/ 4 hours walking/ 1 hour lunch

Follow a small track and cross Muong Hoa River and pass well tended rice terraces on your way to the Black Hmong village of Lao Chai. Continuing through the colorful rice terraces you will reach the village of Ta Van Giay. As you continue your trek along the Muong Hoa River you will cross a small suspension bridge, roughly 2km from the settlement. Here you can discover a fascinating collection of rock carvings. These engravings depict some beautiful images of human, stilt houses and some beautiful decorative patterns.

Have lunch at a home in the village with typical local food. After lunch the walk continues through a bamboo forest to Giang Ta Chai, a Red Dao ethnic minority village. Take a rest nearby a waterfall to refresh. Then start climbing uphill to a road where the car is ready for your journey back to Sapa town.

 

Overnight at hotel in Sapa.

[Saturday] Discover Can Cau Market, situated in Can Cau Commune, Si Ma Cai District, Lao Cai Province. The fair is organized by the Mong and the Giay people yet operated the same as the Dao people’s business structure. All kinds of goods are presented in their most fresh and wholesome condition at the local product area and the cattle area.

Transfer to Bac Ha. On the way, stop by Ban Pho to admire local lifestyle of ethnic people and enjoy the fresh natural scenery.

Overnight at homestay in Bac Ha.

Transfer to Hoang Su Phi.

Soft trekking to Phung Village – Also known as the heart of Hoang Su Phi with its famous terraced rice wonders. Looking down from above, the terraced rice fields stretch out embracing the small warm roofs of local houses create a majestic scenery.

Spend 2 hours walking through Suoi Thau steppe, Coc Pai town – As known as “Swiss steppe” in the heart of Ha Giang, impressed with the landscape as a picture of diverse shades of nature between immense mountains and green rice fields and corn fields.

Checkin homestay in Hoang Su Phi. Relaxing with a hot mineral bath that in the end of the day.

Have dinner with local family and overnight in Hoang Su Phi.

Accompany with your local guide at 9:00 to explore the nearby mountains through tropical forests and rice terraces in Thong Nguyen, Nam Hong. Keep walking until afternoon through manioc fields, bamboo forests, and tea plantations, along the way, you will witness the incredible rice terraces. You will also have the opportunity to learn about the Red Dzao people, and their daily life, admire their beautiful traditional outfits.

Lunch at local family house. The trekk will culminate with a scenic walk along the river back to homestay.

Check-out and transfer to Nghia Do.

Arrive in Nghia Do, stopped at Hon village. This is Tay village, people live on stilts with palm roofs. The village has many beautiful and rustic scenes, not yet touristized, so you can witness an extremely rich scene of people's activities.

Dinner and overnight at homestay in Nghia Do.

Wake-up early in the morning in the middle of enchanting rural scenery. Enjoy breakfast and bid farewell to local host before back to Hanoi. Lunch on the way.

Arrive at hotel in Hanoi. End of services.
