For culture lovers, every small moment of discovery is a step closer to understanding a new and different way of life. Scattered throughout the country, Vietnam's UNESCO Heritage Sites are jackpots for these moments of discovery. Each one promises exceptional beauty and remarkable insight into Vietnamese culture.

The highlights of this trip:

  • Take your bike and spend the day at Thuy Bieu village on the southern bank of Perfume River - the village is famous its mild sweet Thanh Tra - a special kind of pomelo which boasts refined fragrance and green skin.
  • Rowing boats through Tam Coc (Three caves) with its rock formations jutting out of the rice paddies. 
  • Visit to An Hien garden house - the most typical house that remains its original and standards of a garden house in Hue
  • Dinner with specialty “Cha ca La Vong” – one of the most favorite dishes and the pride of Hanoian. 
  • Discover Ben Tre enjoy scenery in countryside and take a boat trip on small canal to discover real life in Mekong Delta.

Itinerary

Arrival at Tan Son Nhat international airport. Welcome and pick up by local guide. Check in at hotel for refreshment before transfer for dinner in the evening. 

Free time to discover Saigon at night.

Start full day visit Ho Chi Minh city (Saigon), begin with Fito Museum - the Traditional Vietnamese Medicine & Pharmacy where more than 3,000 items of traditional pharmacy dating back to the Stone Age being displayed. 

Continue to visit the Notre Dame Cathedral, the main Post office, the former Presidential Palace, the history museum and spend some free time at Ben Thanh market - a large marketplace in central liveliest areas. Everything that’s commonly eaten, worn or used by the Saigonese is piled high, and souvenir items can be found in equal abundance.

In the evening, transfer for dinner cruise and enjoy the colorful night view of Saigon river.

Depart from hotel to Hung Vuong Pier to take a boat trip on small canal to discover real life and enjoy scenery in countryside of Ben Tre. Visit tropical garden and try typical fruits of the southern, then you will be take motor cart (xe lôi) on shady paths passing by rice fields and vegetable plains. Lunch in an orchard with specialty "Elephant ear fish".

After lunch, take a walk through the village, visit a candy and manual coconut processing workshop. Get into Ben Tre large river, stop at few last existing brickiln in the southern to see how bricks are made by hand. 

Drive back to Saigon and at leisure to discover Saigon at night.

Transfer to airport for flight to Da Nang. Upon arrival, pick up by your local guide and transfer to Hoi An for lunch with famous “Cao Lau” special noodles with porks and shrimps. 

Hoi An was an ancient port known as Faifo where traders Chinese, Portuguese, Dutch, Japanese came for their trade. Take a walk through the narrow streets to visit the ancient town:  the Japanese Bridge, an old house. At the end of the afternoon, then take an excursion on boat to enjoy the sunset over Thu Bon river. 

Free time to explore the charming colorful town after dinner.

After breakfast, start your journey with a bicycle ride passing by the rice paddle of the country side and immerse yourself into the fresh air of the nature. On the way, meet up with local farmer, you will have the opportunity to get to know their daily farming life and enjoy a cup of tea with them at middle of the field.

Upon arrival at local host, dress in farming clothes before entering to the muddy rice field and get ready to be a Vietnamese farmer by firstly, learning the process of how to grow wet rice with water buffalo plough and use agricultural water system. Continue the farm work with transplanting rice at the rice field, riding on a water buffalo and have a good rest for at lunch time at local house. 

Bike back to hotel and enjoy your free time to explore the town or relax until dinner time.

Leave Hoi An for Hue over the Hai Van pass. Stop at Linh Ung Pagoda at Son Tra Peninsula, Da Nang where you can admire the stunning view of this pagoda.

In the afternoon, visit the Imperial Citadel which was mostly constructed in 1802 by Gia Long known as the first Emperor who established the Nguyen dynasty, follow by An Dinh Palace. This palace is one of the classic structures of Hue imperial city with unique fusion of Vietnamese and French artistic and architectural styles.

In the evening, transfer to have Royal costumed dinner. Each dish is the subject of a sophisticated presentation in the form of mythical animals, just like the way it was presented at royal family meal. (minimum 8 pax). Overnight at hotel in Hue.

Take your bike and spend the day at Thuy Bieu village on the southern bank of Perfume River. The village is famous its mild sweet Thanh Tra - a special kind of pomelo which boasts refined fragrance and green skin. 

Thuy Bieu is featured by its rustic settings, typical of Hue countryside. The whole village is hidden in luxuriant gardens of citruit and bamboo. Local people live in small cottages, built in traditional architecture with small chambers, titled roof and long gate. 

While visiting the village, you will have a chance to admire the ancient houses “Nha Ruong” with hundred year-old. You will see that all houses in the village have a small altar on one side of the gate dedicated to ancestor worshipping and you may also find many temples and communal houses in the village, a feature of Hue culture. While exploring the fruit garden of the village, try some tropical fruits that locally grown, and if you travel during the autumn time, enjoy tasting the famous Thanh Tra will be an excellent experience of your trip!

Before your lunch at local house, have feet a good treat of massage with medicinal herbs that harvested from the gardens of Thuy Bieu and spend sometimes immersing yourselves in the peaceful ambiance of the village. 

Back to city center by boat with a stop at Thien Mu pagoda. 

In the evening, enjoy local street food with tasting of typical dishes such as Banh Beo, Banh Loc, Banh Nam, Banh Uot, Banh Ram, Cha Tom, Banh Khoai and Nem Lui. Visit outside the Imperial Citadel where you can see a different aspect of the imperial and take a cyclo tour to the final stop for your sweet dessert “Che” in a small alley. (Maximum 8 people)

After breakfast, visit Temple of Literature – the Vietnam's first national university and Tran Quoc Pagoda. Lunch with tasting Hanoi’s street food: “Banh tom” (sweet potato shrimp fritters), “Bun cha” (Grilled pork with vermicelli)

In the afternoon, take a walk to visit Hoan Kiem lake and Ngoc Son Temples, discover the myth about this lake. 

Dinner with specialty “Cha ca La Vong” – one of the most favorite dishes and the pride of Hanoian. Grilled turmeric marinated fish will be served at your table in a boiling oil pan with vegetables, and accompanied with fresh dill, herbs, peanuts, and rice noodles while eating.

Morning visit to An Hien garden house - the most typical house that remains its original and standards of a garden house in Hue. Architecture and nature of this garden house intertwines each other, creating a perfect combination of noble quintessence and traditional folk colors. 

Then head south to the west bank of Huong River to visit Minh Mang’s tomb. The architecture fits harmoniously into the surrounding landscape that makes Minh Mang’s tomb become the most majestic of all tombs. 

After lunch, transfer to Phu Bai airport for flight to Hanoi. 

Upon arrival, pick up by your local guide and transfer to hotel for check in.

After breakfast, depart from hotel in Hanoi to Ky Son village. 

Upon arrival, enjoy your welcome drink with local fresh green tea before exploring the local market and attending cooking class around noon time. After lunch, enjoy hand spa section by having your fingers dipped in a fragrant lime bowl and the traditional herbal hand massage. 

In the afternoon, your choice of 6km or 12km bicycle ride to explore the neighborhood, including a visit to Duong Lam ancient village (long ride), you can also participate in plowing or transplanting seedlings, harvesting rice with the farmers. Steam bath with fragrant herbs after a long exciting day. 

In the evening, observe Buddha worship and then enjoy your dinner. 

Before bedtime, enjoy your foot bath in warm water with ginger, salt and mugwort medicinal herbs which will help your foot relax and bring you a deeper sleep after a long day. Overnight at garden house homestay in Ky Son village.

Start your day waking up in the quiet atmosphere of the rural village and join Yijinjing traditional exercises. After breakfast, bid farewell to your host family and leave Ky Son for Ninh Binh. 

Stop to visit the Temples of King Dinh Tien Hoang and King Le Dai Hanh at Hoa Lu which known as the first capital of Viet Nam rules under the Dinh and early Le dynasties from 968 to 1009 AD. Lunch with local specialties “Grilled goat” and “Com chay” (crunchy rice) 

Take a rowing boat trip through Tam Coc (Three caves) with its rock formations jutting out of the rice paddies. Then, enjoy the peaceful scenic of Ninh Binh while riding your bike or on an ox-cart through the countryside.

At the end of the day, to check-in hotel in Ninh Binh. Dinner and overnight at hotel. 

Depart from Ninh Binh to Ha Long. Arrival at Ha Long, check in on board and set sail through the bay while lunch is served. Passage into the magical bay where thousands of sculpted limestone islands rise from the waves like dragons' teeth.

After lunch, you can take a bamboo row boat to discover a water tunnels with many coral reefs in a scenic lagoon or watch the sun set at the horizon line on the bay. Dinner and overnight on board.

Note: Itinerary might be different from each cruising operation. 

Wake up early in the morning to enjoy beauty of Ha Long bay at sunrise and start your day with Tai Chi before breakfast.

Continue to visit Ha Long in the morning. Brunch on board before checkout. Disembark and transfer back to Hanoi. On the way visit But Thap pagoda - oldest Buddhist Pagodas in Vietnam.  

At leisure until time to transfer to airport for your flight back home or prolong your trip with a wonderful extension to discover the beauty of Vietnam.
