A series of eventful activities are set to thrill visitors to Ha Long, home to the world heritage site Ha Long Bay in the northern coastal province of Quang Ninh, during the forthcoming National Reunification Day and May Day holidays, which last from April 29 to May 3.
The highlight among them is the 2023 Ha Long Carnival, slated for April 30 evening on Vo Nguyen Giap street in Bai Chay ward.
The 120-minute programme will feature performances of popular singers, dancers, actors, and folk artisans and nearly 2,000 others from local troupes. It will be rounded off with a low-range fireworks display lasting 15 minutes.
Other events set for the holidays include a sport tournament from April 20 to March 3; a kite flying festival on May 1 and 2; the city’s photo exhibition and literature and art creation camp from April 29 to May 2; and a modern dance festival from April 29 to May 2.
Ha Long is among the key tourist destinations of Quang Ninh. The province aims to serve 15 million visitors, including 2 million foreigners, this year.
