Ha Noi to mark 20th anniversary of its ‘City for Peace’ title

In addition, a wide variety of meaningful activities will take place on the occasion. Notably, a peace culture festival featuring two performances, themed ‘I love Hanoi’ and ‘Lighting peace’, is expected to delight audiences on July 13-14.

International organisations and embassies will introduce their cultural identities and tourism products at an event entitled ‘Friendship Village’ in Le Thach street.

Visitors to the capital will also be introduced to Vietnam’s UNESCO recognised intangible cultural heritages.

Photo exhibitions honouring “civilised and elegant Hanoians” as well as the capital city’s efforts towards peace will open in July and September, respectively. Meanwhile a peaceful and friendship melody festival, themed ‘Echoes of the peaceful city’ will be held in October.

In addition, the Ha Noi municipal People’s Committee directed the agencies to organise activities in association with patriotic emulation movements and international cooperation, contributing to the successful implementation of the cause of industrialisation and modernisation for the country and city.
