Vietnam’s beautiful natural landscapes and cultural diversity have won it the title World’s Leading Heritage Destination for 2023, presented by the World Travel Awards at a ceremony in Dubai.
Vietnam nabbed the coveted World's Leading Heritage Destination 2023 title by World Travel Awards yet again. The country’s claimed this accolade three times before: in 2019, 2020 and 2022. Vietnam has surpassed several strong nominees such as Armenia, Brazil, Egypt, Greece, Japan and Saudi Arabia to be crowned World's Leading Heritage Destination in 2023.
The award shows the globally outstanding values and attractiveness of the country’s cultural heritage to the international community. Hanoi won the title of World’s Leading City Break Destination, and Phu Quoc island in Kien Giang Province was named the World’s Leading Nature Island Destination. Moc Chau in Son La province was named the World’s Leading Regional Nature Destination, Ha Nam province the World’s Leading Regional Cultural Destination, and Tam Dao in Vinh Phuc province the World’s Leading Town Destination. The Vietnam National Authority of Tourism said the title of World’s Leading Heritage Destination and Vietnam’s efforts to preserve and promote its heritage values will further promote Vietnam’s image to international friends.
